Along a short corridoor is these gates, beyond which lies access to the various parts of the Halswell Battery upon which the Massey Memorial is built on top of..

Here we see the inside of the Gun pit. It was lined with marble when it was converted into the Massey Memorial. You can still see the lip around the gunpit. The Massey's are interred within the large marble structure in the lower centre of this photo.
